Health disclaimer (the important one)
RuckMode is not a medical device. We are not doctors. We don't diagnose, treat, or cure anything.
Readiness Score, Training Load, HRV trends, and all similar metrics are estimates for fitness purposes. They are NOT medical advice, a substitute for medical care, or diagnostic tools.
If you have a heart condition, are pregnant, are recovering from surgery, or have any medical concern — talk to a doctor before using RuckMode's recommendations to change your training.
RuckMode is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense, any military branch, CrossFit, or any official Murph event. Field-style, branch-inspired, and Murph-style workouts are general fitness templates only.
Check-in and emergency features
RuckMode check-ins are convenience tools for sharing status and location when your device, carrier, and Apple services support messaging. We do not operate satellites, dispatch rescuers, or route emergencies. In a life-threatening emergency:
- Use Apple's native SOS (hold side button) first
- Call local emergency services where available
- Do not rely solely on either - carry a PLB or inReach for serious backcountry
RuckMode is not responsible for failed message delivery, unavailable connectivity, or slow response from emergency services.
Adventure / navigation disclaimer
Offline maps, waypoints, and route guidance are tools, not guarantees. Maps can be outdated. Trails change. Trails close. Private land boundaries shift. Always carry backup: paper map, compass, PLB for serious trips. Do not use RuckMode as your only navigation on life-critical routes.
Subscriptions and billing
- Apple handles billing. You pay Apple. Apple remits to us.
- Cancel any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- We don't store your credit card.
- Refunds: Apple's policy applies. For edge cases within 30 days, email [email protected].
Our liability
We're a small company. We do our best. If RuckMode breaks, misses a check-in, loses a workout, or crashes at a critical moment, our liability is capped at the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the last 12 months.
You use RuckMode at your own risk. We make no warranties about uptime, accuracy, or suitability for any specific activity. Endurance sports and backcountry adventure are inherently risky. Your safety is your responsibility.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll email you before major changes. Continued use means you accept.
Disputes
If you sue us:
- Individually only — no class actions
- In Illinois state or federal court
- Illinois law applies
If we sue you: same rules. We've never sued a user and don't plan to. This clause just prevents lawyers from gaming the system.
